Change of Pricing Model & Discontinuation of Payment Acceptance: FAQs
Change of Pricing Model & Discontinuation of Payment Acceptance: FAQs
Updated over a month ago

After careful consideration, we have decided to change our pricing model and discontinue payment acceptance services beginning 15 January 2024.

This strategic shift will ultimately allow us to focus on new products and services that will better meet the evolving needs of customers like you. We will make a separate announcement about these in the future, and we are grateful for your support.

Payment Acceptance

Why are you discontinuing your payment acceptance features?

NextPay has chosen to focus more on disbursement solutions. As such, we have decided to discontinue our payment acceptance services to focus on developing other products and services that can serve businesses better.

This strategic shift will ultimately allow us to focus our efforts on new products and services that we believe will better meet the evolving needs of customers like you.

Is NextPay shutting down?

NextPay will continue its operations, allowing merchants to create invoices (with no payment feature) or send money to their employees, suppliers, vendors, and customers. There will be upcoming features and services to be released in the next few months.

Are my funds safe with NextPay?

Yes, your funds are safe with NextPay.

All customer payment proceeds received until January 14, 2024 will still be credited to your NextPay account as usual following the standard payout processing times. You can choose to disburse your funds to your bank account or to send money to your employees, suppliers, vendors, or customers.

Additionally, we keep all our merchants’ funds separate from NextPay’s operating funds, meaning that all cleared funds maintained with NextPay can readily be disbursed/withdrawn at your discretion.

Which services will be impacted?

Only our payment acceptance features (Payment Links, Invoices, and PocketPay) will be discontinued. Deposits, Disbursements, and Invoices (with no payment feature) will continue to be available for you to use.

Can I continue to disburse funds to make payments?

Yes, you can continue to use our disbursement feature.

Will my NextPay account be closed after January 15?

No, your account will not be closed. You will continue to have access to your funds and may still use your account to create invoices (with no payment feature) or send money to your employees, suppliers, vendors, or customers through our disbursement feature.

Pricing Model

Why are you changing your pricing model?

NextPay has decided to focus more on spend management solutions for businesses and doing it better than everyone else. As we build these enhanced flexibility and features, we need to adjust to a model that supports the company to continue to serve you and all our customers in the superb way you are used to with us.

What will change in your pricing model?

We are planning to implement a monthly subscription in order to make use of our services by January. This change will also include improved features and services related to our disbursement solutions and company spend management. More specific details about this will be provided in the coming weeks.

When will the monthly subscription take effect?

NextPay’s goal is to introduce subscription tiers by mid-January 2024. All new users will need to subscribe in order to make use of our platform. However, we will have a grace period of a few weeks for any existing NextPay customers to begin their subscriptions.
